Week Round Off #2

What a week it’s been, it’s been my first week in London and god do I love it?! At first I was quite home sick but with the continuous encouragement of family and friends, I started to feel more at home.

First thoughts on living in London? It’s loud, dirty, polluted.

Beneath all that is a lovely big city which holds many living and job opportunities, tourist attractions, perfect nightlife – its a city that never sleeps! It’s literally like the New York of London!

One thing about coming to London, I had to sacrifices the things that I love. I had to say goodbye to my little boy for a few months too, I miss him terribly & I hear he misses me too.

Our last day together for a few months

The first few days were spend getting to know the area, how to get to uni everyday & it turns out uni is only a 5-10 minute walk from home… it’s absolutely perfect!

After spending a few days at home, I decided to go out for Lunch with a friend from home – Jaye.

While spending time with old friends, I also took the time to get to know my amazing flat mates better, finding out where the came from, about their families and what they came here to study. All in all, we ended up playing cards. (Nobody can turn down a good game of cards!)

Me and Bella, my housemate. She’ll kill me for this! Oooops…

The first real day of Freshers then started, so we decided to check out the first event that the uni hosted, a UV party, where I met a girl who’d i’d been talking to prior to uni starting – she’s also studying Biochemistry! After the UV party, a small group of us headed over to the Penthouse for our first London clubbing experience!

It was amazing, seeing the view of London and the London eye with it’s lights on at night while having a drink & a dance… truly breathtaking!

Me and Khush, on our way to the Penthouse… She will probably also kill me! I’m such a good friend.

After all the antics, in the morning I had to enroll as a LSBU student, and with enrollments, come student ID cards, which also means having to have your picture taken – which ended up like this…

After enrolling, I went to visit another good friend of mine Anna… Now as you should know by now, when I go and see a friend we always have to do lunch!

This time we had something different to what we normally have…

Chicken Ramen at Wagamama’s

There are those nights when you just want to stay at home too, so i’ve decided to re-start the full series of Desperate Housewives, it doesn’t get any better than these four ladies!

Saturday’s are definitely market days, had a fantastic time with my flat mates trying different cheeses, wines, cooked meals, olives and seeing the talent of different people from the hand crafted plates that were made!

One thing stood out to me the most though, the fact that people actually eat things like Kangaroo meatballs, Camel burgers and Ostrich eggs!

Borough Market
Chocolate wine – was absolutely disgusting!
Ostrich eggs, Camel burgers & Kangaroo meat balls?!

Since we were out and China town was near, we thought it would be wrong to not go for a Chinese lunch buffet… so we did!

Last of all this week, I decided to join the gym and get fitter and build up some muscles (hahaha!)

So here’s a post-workout selfie to finish with…

So that’s it, all in all my first week in London.
Keep checking back for more updates and blog posts!

(Sorry about the picture overload too!)
