Friends, Like Family

I’ve realised one thing when going to university, your family sadly aren’t around you, so you have to deal with the next best thing to act like your family.

Unlike your family, you can actually chose your friends. I’ve always been taught by my peers to chose your friends wisely. Friends that will always be there for you, will help you out in your time of need and give you a reason to laugh even when you don’t feel like doing so, but most importantly friends that would be truthful and wouldn’t dream to even stab you in the back or bad mouth about you.

“When we honestly ask ourselves which person in our lives means the most to us, we often find that it is those who, instead of giving advice, solutions or cures, have chosen rather to share our pain and touch our wounds with a warm and tender hand.” – Henri Nouwen

Above is a quote that I found, it’s quite relateable but also quite fascinating, it’s something that you’ll always find in a family member, but not always in a friend.

To everyone out there that reads my blog, just take a minute to send a quick message to your friends and tell them how much you appreciate and love them. Trust me, something as small as that will go a long way….especially if it’s not expected either!

I’m quite lucky to have found my tight niche of friends already, long may our friendship last. Here’s a picture of all of us last night – although a few are missing…

Thanks for reading guys, but that’s all for now.

Will update you soon!
