When I was invited to get my hair done by the manager named Mide at Edward James hair salon, I was excited to see what they had in store for me. The salon was situated a little further than where I would normally go, but for this kind of experience you would want to go the extra mile too.
Walking into what was a beautifully presented salon, that instantly made you feel at home with the beautiful decor and the picture perfect Aveda products display. All you beauty fanatics out there will know Aveda well, so it was great to see such a phenomenal brand being the sole brand used in Edward James salon.
Once I had settled, I was given a head and shoulder massage using Aveda calming oils. I was instructed to keep my eyes closed, to breathe deeply and just relax. The massage lasted roughly 15 minutes and was throughly enjoyable, especially if you have a busy, stressful lifestyle like mine.
After my stress relieving massage, I was taken into another room to get my hair washed. As soon as I popped onto the chair, the foot rest started to recline and the back panel started to descend enough so that my head rested on the wash basin. The chair even had a built in deep tissue back massage, which commenced when my hair started to get washed… Wow!
I made the most of it, shut my eyes and enjoyed the wash, condition and further head massage, before meeting Mide back in the main room. She sat down with me and assessed my hair and asked what I wanted. Once she clearly understood what I wanted, she began the cutting process.
Once my cut was complete and I was happy with it. I was taken back into the other room to get my hair re-washed, following the same process as before, except after washing my hair I was given a lovely soothing facial too. I wish I took my camera along too, but it is rather difficult to take photos with your eyes closed! 😉
Post-facial, I was returned back to Mide at Edward James, ready for the final part – the styling session.

Best of all, gents get a complimentary cut after three weeks of their initial cut to keep it all neat and tame. Amazing right? I will definitely be heading back to see Mide soon.
Until next time…

You look very sharp 🙂
Looking dapper! Have to say Aveda products have never agreed with my hair, though!

Wow, this sounds like the most amazing haircut experience! x
Can’t wait to experience it too!
I used to hate having my hair cut, but ever since I got highlights in December I’m now obsessed – it felt so nice to just sit still for a coupla hours and read magazines! I loved it so much I’m going back again next week, which is UNHEARD of for me…usually I only go once or twice a year!

Nothing beats a good haircut especially the pampering that comes with it if you go to a good salon….I need to ask for biscuits the next time I visit the hairdressers I think 🙂
