My Haircare Routine

You have read the title correctly, in the twenty first century men do in fact have hair care routines. The times are changing, more men have decided to take better care of themselves to enhance their looks.
Fellow bloggers and friends that know me on a personal level will understand when I say my hair is the most important thing. I don’t let just anyone cut my hair, where one rookie mistake can cost them a loyal customer. Along with a fine royal hair cut, comes the aftercare, so let’s crack on and have a look what hides behind my cabinet doors…
It sure does make a beautiful haircare family photo, doesn’t it?! Each of the products hold a special purpose. Splitting them down into categories, I shall explain what each of their uses are and why I use them. I am sure some of these products will be extremely benefical to add to your haircare range.
1. The Nourishers

On the left, we have Vatika Almond Oil and on the right we have Vatika Coconut Oil. These products are by an indian brand called ‘Vatika’, they are normally sold in indian stores or in your local Tesco/ASDA if they stock indian produce.
The role of the almond oil is to add shine to my hair, giving beautiful TRESemmé look as shown on adverts but best of all without any added chemicals that puts my hair at risk.
The coconut oil works wonders for me in strengthening your roots and adding back the natural goodness that is needed for healthy strong hair. It also encourages hair growth and thickness, giving me the overall perfect look. It works best when rubbed into the scalp section by section, I normally ask my mum to apply it for me and then she gradually works her way through my hair slowly rubbing it in.
When using such products, you can’t expect hair like Rapunzel over night, I would say applying it once a week alternating each oil and over time a significant change will be seen for sure.
2. Washing

My washing stages consist of two products, Aussie Miracle Moist Shampoo and Conditioner along with the Alpecin Caffeine Shampoo. These products work to keep my hair clean, nourished on a daily basis but also prevents hair fall.
I use the Alpecin caffeine shampoo as the main washing agent, as it is based on a caffeine stimulating formula that encourages stronger roots to reduce the amount of hair fall, and boy does it work! I have seen a drastic reduction in the amount of hair found everywhere over time and have found my hair getting thicker too.
I used Aussie shampoo due to it being such a quality shampoo, I would not say it was expensive but it is not the cheapest of everyday shampoos. I use miracle moist because I hair-dry my hair a lot prior to styling, therefore it tends to make my hair a bit dry and unruly. I use the shampoo and conditioner every other day when I am not using the Alpecin shampoo, so that my hair does not get used to one particular product and become immune to it.

3. Styling

The final stage is my styling stage, as mentioned above that I do use a hairdryer to dry my hair to make sure it sits perfectly therefore I used TRESemmé Heat Protection Spray (Post on it can be seen here) which not only acts as a heat protection spray but also a product that sets my hair whilst it is being dried.
The second to last product I use is the Bumble & Bumble Hair Tonic Spray, which throws in those last minute nutrients into my hair but also acts in as a brilliant volumiser, giving my hair that added umph.
Finally, I set it all into place with DAX Short And Neat Hair Dress – it is a very soft based wax that does not harden allowing me to mess with it but also providing the added hold in case of a windy day.
That’s it, my hair care routine. Next time anyone sees my hair, you can understand the effort, care and products that go into making my hair look like it does on a daily basis whilst keeping it healthy.
