Sometimes you wake up not knowing what the day will hold, that’s why I always ensure I get a good night sleep. It may be a day on the couch, or hours on your feet walking around Oxford St.
Today’s adventure was like no other, one that I never thought I would get the chance to experience having always had it on my bucket list for so long. Having the chance to experience the thrills of London Fashion Week, an offer I just could not say no to – I am lucky to have such wonderful blogging friends like Liam (who’s blog can be seen here).
We met at Oxford Street and then off we went to Somerset House, with mixed feelings, trying to predetermine in my head what it was all going to be like. In fact, it was exactly what I expected and more. The buzz you get from all the goings on, the rushing around, the flash photography and the well dressed fashionista’s was just incredible. It’s every fashion bloggers dream.
Whilst exploring the area, we bumped into fellow blogger Katie who blogs over at Scarphelia. A well known blogger that I was so stoked to have met, she was just as beautiful in person, along with Jennifer who blogs over at Bootyfurl. After a bit of quiet small talk, we headed over to the entrance, where we skipped the line-up straight into the queue to enter the catwalk where we were offered some refreshments.
Entering the catwalk was just amazing, the minute I saw the lights and the photographers I had to squeal a little bit, silently of course… It was just so beautiful. Everyone proceeded to take their seats before the show was ready to start.
I must profoundly apologise about the quality of the photos, I was quite miffed that I was not able to retrieve my camera in time therefore I had to deal with what I had on me, which was undoubtably my iPhone. Some of the photos have come out a tad blurry, this was due to a unstable hand as I was so choked up by the whole experience.
Presenting the Jean-Pierre fashion line on the catwalk…
Sorry for the picture overload, I thought I would give you all a real insight into what sort of fashion was on show today. Some real beautiful pieces of attire made so well. I exceptionally loved the dresses as they were completely different to things we have seen in the past, some longer at the front whilst being short at the back and vice versa, others with beautiful cuts and colours. All the pieces followed a fantastic theme of simple and elegant but moulded into different styles which worked amazingly. Hats off to the designer for sure!
I hope you have enjoyed my little experience of London Fashion Week 2014, let’s hope there are many more experiences like this to come (with my camera next time!)… I will be sure to keep you all updated.
Thanks for reading & have a great weekend!
