Lecture Essentials – What’s in my uni bag?

I have seen a lot of people on Twitter asking what they need for starting university, and what I take to university with me to ensure that I have everything I need for a 10-5 lecture filled day. So here is a walk through, telling you what is in my university bag.
Stabilo fine linersSince I am a person that likes to scribble all over my lecture notes with any extra information the lecture can feed to us, I usually like to have different coloured pens to have to separate different notes and bits of information. With 20 colours, you won’t be running out of colours to use, that is for sure. They are definitely a  useful tool to have in any university student’s bag.
iPad – I like to take my iPad with me for those moments in between lectures where you have nothing to do, so you need something to do to keep yourself occupied. I use it to sometimes write notes instead of writing them out, if I am having a lazy day. Another added benefit is that it also has a built in voice recorder, so it is a brilliant if you want to record your lectures and play them back near to exam period.
Note paper – It is the most essential thing you will ever need when going to lectures and labs (in my case anyway!) You will always find a use for it, so be sure to always have note paper in your bag.
Diary – If you’re a forgetful person like I am, you will benefit from carrying a diary in your bag for those essential deadline and exam dates. It doesn’t only have to be used for educational purposes though, feel free to add in things that you are doing or when you are busy. It would prevent double booking yourself and making your friends angry, nobody likes it when friends cancel on their plans!
Pencil case – My pencil case consists of having highlighters, for the important points that keep to always stand out to me. Of course pens and pencils, for note taking, drawing pictures and graphs. A ruler, never forget to underline your titles – nothing more annoying than a badly presented piece of work. -shudders-

Glasses I have my glasses for when I need to the lecture slides more clearly, as I can never tell where in the lecture theatre I am going to find a seat – so I always come prepared for the worst.
Lecture notes – Some of my lecturers tend to put up the lectures notes before the lectures. If they do, take advantage of it, it is such a benefit to me as I can have the notes in front of being annotating them instead of spending my time writing up the notes incase they aren’t available online.

Tissues and hand sanitiser – Since I am quite a klutzy person, I tend to have trips and spills so its always good for me to have the cleaning stuff on hand to prevent walking around with yoghurt all down me. (Don’t laugh, it happened in secondary school!)

So, that’s what there is in my bag!

I love these types of posts! I take notes over my lecture slide too – I find that it's the best way for me to pick up the little new pieces of information the lecturer gives 🙂
