Best 3 Miradouro’s (Viewpoints) In Lisbon

Lisbon is a city that is built on one massive hill, it may be tough on your legs but it makes every hill top worthwhile. This steep location allows some of the most exclusive views across the city from great heights and they are certainly too good to be missed! I’m sharing my three favourite viewpoints to see Lisbon in its true entirety.

1. Miradouro Santa Luzia

Miradouro Santa Luzia

Miradouro Santa Luzia is a opulent and romantic viewpoint of Lisbon that has the Santorini-esque vibe. This viewpoint introduces you to the Alfama in the distance, with a sweeping view of the rooftops and the Tagus river. It’s also the perfect place to stop and grab a drink before moving on to your next sight. There is a lovely pool too, that often invites many people to dip their feet in whilst admiring the views across Lisbon.

2. Miradouro Senhora do Monte

Miradouro Senhora do Monte

Miradouro Senhora do Monte is the highest and most panoramic view point in Lisbon. It spans across the city with views from São Jorge Castle across to Alfama, through to the the hills in the distance. It is the perfect spot to see the sun set over Lisbon, but make sure you get there prior to the sun setting, grab a good spot and have a little bite to eat whilst watching the most beautiful natural experiences Lisbon has to offer.

3. Miradouro Sao Pedro de Alcantara

Miradouro Sao Pedro de Alcantara

From the opposite end of Lisbon, find yourself at Miradouro Sao Pedro de Alcantara to get completely different view. Offering more panoramic views amongst green gardens in bloom, running fountains and statues of famous Greek/Roman gods. You will also find a map that shows you all the distinctive landmarks that you can spot from this view point. It definitely allows you to relax whilst exploring and just appreciate the beauty of this lovely Portuguese capital.

Have you visited any of these three viewpoints?

Until next time…
