After many invites to do restaurant reviews in London, it occurred to me that I had never reviewed a restaurant in Bournemouth when I received an invitation to review Fahrenheit Bar and Grill within the Genting Casino. Absolutely thrilled nonetheless, my blog was getting some recognition back home too. Amazing!
A date was diarised and the eager wait until the day arrived, however in the mean time I did some research… what did other people think? From the feedback reviews, it seemed everyone who had eaten there before could not rave about it enough, so let’s see what I thought…
Entering a casino is something I had never done before, so I had no idea what to expect. A kind gentleman was perched behind the desk and instantly said “Hello Aftab”. It definitely took me by surprise, I know we had a booking but how did they know it was me?! Shortly after, we had another gentleman collect us from the front desk and escorted us to our seats.
We were given a central table, that overlooked the beautiful looking casino. People playing on the roulette machines squealing with happiness when money was won and the sight of the most magnificent looking bar too.
After admiring the view for some time, a lovely waitress came to take our order. First things first… drinks. No prize for guessing what we had….
Nothing beats a glass of sweet zinfandel rosé. Sipping away, checking out the menus, we decided on our starters and mains after a lots contemplating – everything just sounded so good!
For starters, we went for BBQ chicken wings and baked bruschetta, since we both had our hungry eyes on the same two starters we decided to share them – get the best of both worlds.
The barbecue wings were positively delicious! My two favourite things, chicken and barbecue sauce together it is just a winner in my eyes. The wings were nicely glazed, without leaving a sticky residue which made it more enjoyable. Served with a small salad and a refreshing lime infused sour cream.
I want to eat this baked bruchetta again, hands down. It was packed with so much flavour, especially with the balsamic glaze over the top. What I loved the most was how down under the layer of cheese there was the tomato and basil sitting, however the cheese cased it all in preventing any of the topping from falling off and the flavours worked so well together. Practical and yummy, what more could you want?!
Jaye had a beastly steak burger which looked delicious. Served with a side of fries, beetroot slaw and relish, topped with a couple of onion rings (ooops, we definitely should have not ordered a side of onion rings too!) Jaye gave it a real big thumbs up, a happy foodie.
I had a well done sirloin steak, which was divine. The meat melted in my mouth, just how I like it. Served with a mushroom, a perfectly cooked tomato, some thick cut chips and some gorgeous warm peppercorn sauce. It was just perfection.
However, with a new course comes a new drink. We were ready to turn it up a notch, on to the bubbles we go! *clink* CHEERS!
Demolishing the food on our plates and leaving them pristine clean, there was a definite success on the plate. However, that was not all… there was one course to go!
Jaye sadly could not eat of the desserts. However, I had been eyeing up one of the desserts ever since I got the menu at the beginning of the meal and there was no way I could leave without trying it!
A baileys crème brûlée, again, my two favourite things in one dessert. How could anyone possibly pass up an opportunity to try it? If your feeling hungry already and craving it, let me tell you something… IT WAS AMAZING!!! Sorry, I did not mean to make the situation worse but I just had to tell you how good it was! I did tell the waitress that I would be back, purely to have it again. She giggled… 😉
Overall, a fantastic meal and evening at Fahrenheit Bar and Grill, amazing food and brilliant company. I would certainly go back again. If you haven’t been, get your skates on and head on down!
Until next time…
