| Happy smiles – Sibling selfies – My boy |
I love living in London, a city that never sleeps, a bit like a mini New York in a way. The weird thing about it is that time moves so fast even when you do nothing all day. I can get through a day of just bumbling around and it will feel like the day lasted five minutes and I will be extremely tired too!
Coming home was on my mind for the last few weeks of this semester, I was excited to come home to homely comforts, seeing my family, my noble steed and of course to some peace and quiet! It makes a change from hearing regular sirens, people shouting for no reason whatsoever but also the impatient drivers who feel the need to press their car horn every two seconds.
Along with all those bonuses, my favourite of all is the freshness in the air. Nothing like the dark black smog that surrounds London like a closed bubble. You cannot even imagine to think what fresh air is if you have lived there all your life. I literally wanted to spend all day outside just because I was happy to have clean, breathable air back into my lungs. I think my lungs thanked me too…
Its only been my first day back, but I settled straight back into my old ways. It makes a change to be able to lounge around on the couch in front of a massive television, its all the little things that I miss the most. Sleeping in your own bed, reliable wifi, a beautiful garden to look out onto, the home cooked food by my amazing mum and the jokes and laughter within the family. I definitely have not got used to being back in an equestrian sense… My body is not happy after tending to Blue and my friends big lad either, shows how physically challenging it is to be an equestrian… a lot of stamina, strength and commitment too. Back to pushing big bales of haylage, picking up bales of hay, feed and bedding, mucking out and all. It will take a few days and I will be back on top form.
My smile has not left me at all today, I am just so overjoyed to be back… That’s all for my first day back at home. I’m sure I will be giving you all an update with the other antics I get up to while on my three week (revision) break.
I hope you all have a fantastic Easter break, work hard but play hard too!
