Day 14: Talk About Your Siblings

The transformation from young to old.

I was quite excited about this post, as it is on a topic that I love – my sisters of course! Family is the most important thing in the world. I do sympathise for all the people who have lost parents or siblings over the years, any way let’s not get you all down because this is supposed to be a happy post!

Introducing the eldest of the two sister, Shabana who is currently 26 but will be turning 27 in April (Damn, she is getting on a bit… only joking!) She has been married for less than a year (so sorry boys, she is taken now!) My sister is a wonderful person, a kind hearted lady with so much to give. She has a degree in law and is a fantastic lawyer at that too! She is definitely one in a million, you will not ever find somebody like her – as I mentioned on my previous post – its good to be unique. From looking after me when I was a bratty kid to the late night conversations with endless advise, I do not know what I would do without her. So many good memories, playing shops in the spare room at my grandma’s house, taking us to Manchester to Trafford centre and getting the biggest gob stoppers ever. Not to forget going swimming and going on the water slides. These are only few of the things that we have done together, but I am sure there will be many more to come. Her husband is so lucky to have a wife like her – she always tries her best in everything she does with doing so has turned into a fabulous cook too! She may not be as close to home now, but none-the-less she is only a three hour train ride away she always remains very close in my heart.

Introducing my second sister, she likes to think she is the best of the two but I love them both equally. Shamina is 21, soon to be 22 in a matter of weeks. Studying Pharmacy, on her last year where after she will go on to do her pre-registration and become a qualified pharmacist (this is starting to sound like a dating site now!) but at that, she is not married…yet. I know a few of my friends have got a close eye on her, but not under my watch… Back off lads! For as long as I can remember, my sister has been there for me, except from the regular five minute arguments as kids. Our mum never used to call it a fight, because it would get physical and mean and then ten minutes later we were back to being best friends again without a trace of disagreement. Shamina is the most thoughtful, hard working and caring person ever, I am bias because she’s my sibling after all but its the truth – from the heart. Just wait until her wedding day, I will embarrass her like no tomorrow… only kidding!

I couldn’t imagine my life without her, luckily she only lives the best of 30 minutes away from me so I get to see her on a regular basis – makes up for not having Shabana or parents around whilst at university. Alongside her busy life, Shamina is a professional Bollywood dancer for Honey’s Dance Academy in London, where she performs with her group at wedding’s, functions and various other events. When I say she is good at what she does, I really mean she is excellent. She has always had a deep passion for Bollywood dancing since her childhood (I reckon it is because of all the Bollywood movies she watches!)

I could go on and on about them both, but it would get very mushy. I am just very appreciative, not only because they are family (they had no choice in that matter) but because we are such a close trio and the best friends I could ever ask for at the same time. You are both perfect ladies, do not ever change for anyone!

Thanks for reading,
