We’re moving onto the last part of our trip. Sad indeed. Such a beautiful, romantic city with so many extravagant monuments and sights to see. However, all good things have to come to an end right? The memories should be savoured, awaiting my next dose of wanderlust to run through my veins and for another trip to be planned. Have no fear Paris, I will be back one day.
Another beautiful day in Paris. Up and ready to head over to Le Centre Pompidou, to check out some abstract artwork. Interesting is one word of putting it, but come and join us… what did we see?!
Artwork rarely touches me, however this piece did. Many different globes with brown areas signifying where riots, bombings and terrorist attacks have happened. It is not until you see the big picture that you realise how sad it really is. So many places around the world has suffered and so many countries still are…
There was a project taking place, called the ‘Cafe Little Boy’, which was all about people contributing to art. Five people at a time were allowed to go into the room and write anything they wanted on the chalk board walls.
After a morning of quirky art, we moved onto the next monument on our list. This special place gave us a major throwback to our childhood years filled with Disney. Any guesses as to where went next?
You thought this was a hint right? Sadly not, just some beautiful sights that were seen on the way to the next monument. 😉
We are here! Did you figure out where we are? The Notre Dame from The Hunchback of Notre Dame!
Does this ring any bells in your head? Ah… yeah… I thought so! 😉
The next place was in perfect view from the Notre Dame. One of the things I had on my bucket list to visit for so long and another reason I actually wanted to go to Paris. A special place…
The Love Lock Bridge!! I finally made it. A overwhelming shiver went through my spine whilst taking these photos, it felt so surreal, a dream come true!
I could not come all the way and not put a lock on myself! My sister amazingly brought a lock along too, she really did think of everything. A tribute to our trip, to having the closest bond and sibling relationship and to never losing one of my best friends… we put a lock of love on the bridge. Forever let our “siblingship” flourish.
We kept one key, in hope that we return one day in the future and find it again.
The other two keys had a special send off. Each taking one, making a wish and throwing it off the bridge into the water.
We left with huge grins on our faces. Happiness, so much happiness.
A magnificent view of the Notre Dame from the Love Lock Bridge. Paris definitely did not make it easy to leave this city. So much pretty.
If the day could not get any better, I found it could. Every new country or city I have travelled to, I have always managed to see mounted police, so it was just perfect to have bumped into these two chestnut beauties.
The last destination for the day, Fondation Louis Vuitton, so jump aboard the Metro with us and join us over there!
The most beautiful architecture. Simply stunning. However the exhibitions inside were a little disappointing. I would have hoped for some great things, however it was the total opposite. I know many of the other people visiting felt the same way by the expressions on their faces. You live and you learn, right?
After a day of touring and only nibbles for lunch, it was time for dinner. My sister wanted to see what Indian food was like in France, so we found a lovely little authentic restaurant with served some delicious food. A brilliant way to end the night.
However, by this point my camera had sadly died and my adaptor was not working correctly. Therefore, I did not manage to capture any pictures of our dinner.
Day 4, our final day in Paris. A little laze around, before heading to the Sacre Couer. A beautiful sight from the top, we saw the Eiffel Tower from a far and waved off the beautiful city before heading home back to London.
Paris, it has been a real pleasure. Keeping these fond memories close to my heart, I have had the best 21st birthday and some of my dreams and wishes have come true. Until next time…

I LOVE Paris! One of my favourite places in the world! Love your pictures, it looks like you had a great time – happy birthday too! 🙂 xx
It’s a magical city. Thank you Rachel!
I adore Paris. We have a love lock that we’ve been meaning to take back with us but just haven’t got around to it. Hopefully this year it will go on! We just need to get it engraved too!
Looks like you had a wonderful time!
Katie <3
You definitely should, a bit like having some commitment to each other that remains in another city.
I love the idea of the Love Lock bridge, I’ve never visited it myself…I’d love to go and attach a lock for me and Mr S.
Lots of love,
Angie

I think you should! A lovely gesture to lock in your love for eternity.
I felt exactly the same way about the Fondation (nice to know it’s not just me) and put a post up the other week about it (in case you’re interested). Really interesting building though, shame about the contents.
I’m so glad! I was hoping it would be more about him and his fashion, not just a room with a tree in it?! I’ll check it out. 🙂
Awww, Notre Dame and the Love Lock bridge – two places on my own Bucket List! I loved the lock you chose to put on, it’s really important to be good friends with your siblings I think. Loved those two chestnut horses too, so pretty! Gorgeous photos here Aftab, as always, and I hope you’ve enjoyed your time in Paris so far. – Tasha
Thank you Tasha. It was brilliant. You should definitely make a trip to Paris then!! I agree, there is only two of us so we make the most of having each other!
I think I will have to! I really enjoyed this post!
I love Paris so much and your photos are reigniting my desire to go back soon! Notre-Dame has such an incredible atmosphere – though I kind of wish Quasimodo was swinging around the bell towers for real 😉 And I love that you and your sister fixed a love lock on to the bridge together – such close siblings! You had such a wonderfully cultured trip, I’m very jealous! xx
It’s such a lovely weekend away and not too pricey either! You’re telling me they didn’t?! My childhood dreams are shattered 😉 Awwwww, thank you Tamsin! 🙂
That artwork with the globes and the photos is really touching…
It touched me a lot too. So sad…
