How To Style A Polo Shirt

Polo shirts are incredibly popular in the male fashion world, they are casual enough to out with some nice shorts or with a blazer over the top, can make it look a bit more dressy over a pair of jeans. I’ve teamed up with the lovely people over at Jacamo to bring you some of my polo shirt styling tips.

  1. Polo Shirt Over Riding Gear

What I love about polo shirts when riding, is that they are extremely breathable yet stylish. Often enough you work up a sweat when schooling horses or hacking out on a hot day. They allow you to stay cool and comfortable. They also go really well over tight breeches that come in many solid colours like black, blue, grey, brown and khaki.

  2. Polo shirt paired with a bomber jacket and collar up

When spring comes, it isn’t cold enough to wear a big heavy jacket but it’s too cold to go out in just a polo shirt alone. However, I find polo shirts work really well under a bomber jacket, especially with the collar up. A quick and easy casual look.

  3. Smarter style with black jeans and brogues

My favourite way of wearing polo shirts though has to be when I have to go to a party or event during the summer months. It is too hot to wear a shirt, but you still need to look smart. I often like to pair it up with a pair of black skinny jeans or smart trousers and a pair of brogues. It makes it look like you have made an effort and saves you from drowning in your own sweat.

I like my branded polo shirts but not everyone likes to splash their cash on their clothes. I often enough find the best place to find polo shirts is Jacamo. They have a great array of polo shirts for all price ranges including brands like French Connection.

What are your favourite ways to style polo shirts, ladies and gents?

Until next time…
