Happiness; Feeling or showing pleasure or contentment.
Getting up in the morning, starting a new day, a new adventure, what could today bring to the table? A bundle of tears, smiles, laughter, adventures?! I look forward to getting into bed after a long day, reflecting on what happened during the day and getting ready to do things differently or better the next day. Mostly, I find myself trying to get the best out of each day, gazing over things in a more positive outlook where possible, to remain happy.
I see far too many young individuals with so much potential, but no aspirations for their future because they are stuck in a bubble. In a state of mind where they are unhappy about their bodies, personalities, popularity, friends and social media. Most of the time it is physiological due to a cruel society pushing the act of perfection, where everyone seeks to be a part of this pathetic fantasy. That was me once upon a time though.
Contentment, a feeling of being satisfied. Satisfaction comes from appreciating what you have around you and extracting the positivity from each thing that occurs day to day. Once you can appreciate what you have, you can start to feel content about your life and start your road to happiness.
My journey to happiness started when I discovered the things that gave me a reason to get up in the morning. Horses were a huge part of that, the unconditional love, the excitement on their faces as your car pulls into the yard and they see you. Channelling that pleasure and contentment, I became sweeter with an obvious change in my behaviour.
As my happiness grew, I naturally became more positive, I averted from the fantasy of being perfect and I started to try and be content with what I had and what I was. Accepting that certain things were not going to change such as my personality, how I looked, forgetting my flaws and slowly finding the what I liked about myself. You eventually learn to love yourself and feel content about it too.
Over time, I branched out further and ventured deep down into what else gave me great pleasure, which is when I wanted to start a blog. Blogging gave me a personal space where I could call mine, where I was able to share my life passions and journeys, with people who were genuinely interested in what I had to say. Leading me to discover blogging communities and find further friends over the web and at blogger meet ups, boosting my confidence in meeting new people and making more friends that had the same interests as me. Most of which will most likely have a similar story to me.
The pursuit of happiness, is the right you have to live your life in a way that brings you joy. Be adventurous, find that special something that brings you that shot of excitement that you cannot describe, work with it and burst that bubble that causes those unruly emotions.
Smile, it makes the world a brighter place.
