Monthly Round Up: January Edition

January Round-Up
From the moment the clocks struck 12, we welcomed in a new year with hopes of great success, wealth and hope for major weight loss. I’m sure many of you stuck to your resolutions (well done to you all!) and others are reading this with your heads hanging in shame. Not to worry, it’s never too late to start it back up again.

Can we just take a moment to realise how fast January has gone?! I can’t believe how quick the first month of 2016 is over. However, February means we are one month closer to the spring and summer months filled with warm sunshine and longer evenings, yippee!

My January has been filled with lots of exciting things, some goodbyes and happy memories but I shall fill you in on everything right away.

My mum’s birthday is in January, so she planned to drop me back to London and make a weekend of it with us, as my sister and I never get the chance to celebrate with her since university always starts just before it. We planned a few days of eating indian street food, wedding clothes shopping and birthday celebrations with fine cocktails – exactly how it should be done.

When my mum left, it was time to catch up with friends after being away from them for four weeks, so we decided to get together and make the last day of the Lumiere festival. It was a lovely way to get out and about in London, trying to find the different displays. London needs more things like Lumiere.

Being back in London also meant revisiting our loved ‘usual’ places, such as lunch at Bibimbap and cocktails at our favourite Soho bar.

Many blogger meets up were in the diary, with the chance to meet put some names to faces after speaking them over social media for so long. A lovely drinks night with fellow bloggers at Mr Foggs in Mayfair. It was great to see Silverspoon London, Kings Road Rocks, Luxury Columnist, Yannick, The Lifestyle Diaries and Adventures of a London Kiwi.

Brunch at Del Aziz, a beautiful Mediterranean restaurant in fantastic company of Miss Food Blogger and Being Blonde Is A Lifestyle. Followed by a luxe afternoon tea at Gran Caffé Londra in Knightsbridge.

Dinner at Blacklock with Ramblings Of A Food Addict, where carnivores meat chops. A mouth watering selection of different cuts of meet followed by a guilty helping of white chocolate cheesecake. Mmmm!

With reunions, there was departures too. I’m sure those who follow my Instagram and read my blog you will know about Take and Blue. Blue found himself being sold on again to a wonderful new family that I was fortunate to meet and keep in touch with. Safe to say he’s having a great working life now and excelling in it too. January was also the month that the beloved big beast, Take, left for his new home to have a much quieter happier life.

I also took the opportunity of visiting my cousin in Doncaster for a weekend, to visit her baby and the family. A nice break from the hustle and bustle of London with a set up for nothing but relaxation making it an enjoyable weekend all round.

January was a quiet month in terms of the blog, however nevertheless still fun. A smashing blogger evening at Cha Cha Moon to welcome in the year of the Monkey for Chinese New Year. Some delicious food; Singapore Char Kway Teow chicken noodles served with garlic fried beans. Followed by a crispy baked banana in deep fried pastry and special edition banana daiquiris.

The blog also allowed me a pamper day, a facial at ProSkin Clinics and a wonderful cut and style with a phenomenal experience at Edward James hair salon.

Overall, January was a nice and slow yet fun filled month to start the new year off with. However, I am looking forward to what February has in store for me.

Did you get up to anything exciting this month?

Until next time…
