Loco Mexicano Resteraunt

I had not seen my best friend in ages, so we decided to meet up for a meal. We are the sort of people that like to try new places, so Anna decided to find a place and surprise me.

After a lot of guessing, we made it to a Mexican and Cuban restaurant with a brilliant cocktail bar too. It was a little place in Royal Oak called ‘Loco Mexicano’. The best thing amount small places that aren’t a part of a franchise is you get amazing quality food for your money and a reasonable price.

After a lot of choosing, we went started off our meal with a starter. We ordered spicy chicken nachos, which were the best nachos I have ever had. The salsa was handmade, not something that did not come in a bottle. It was covered beautifully in cheese and the chicken was covered in a dry roasted spicy sauce.

After starters, we decided to mix things up for the main course. I have not had a good steak in a while, so we both ordered a Mexican steak, with a garlic butter drizzled over the top. Which made my tastebuds tingle, so many different flavours in one sauce and the steak was cooked to perfection. I love my steaks well done, and sometimes they make it really chewy but the steak just melted in my mouth – exactly how I like it! The steak was served with chips and a side salad, the steak was brought out on a hot sizzle plate which ensured it stayed warm.

Even though our tummies were full to the brim with delicious food, we were so impressed with the food we decided to try the dessert and cocktails ending it on a sweet note.

We shared an ice-cream which consisted of three scoops of ice-cream (we could chose from 5 different flavours) we got fudge, chocolate and vanilla. I am not a huge fan of chocolate ice-cream but this was some decent chocolate ice-cream so it made it worth while. Anna got an original mojito and I got myself a margarita, both well presented and strong drinks which was enough to send us off into a merry mood!

The cocktail menu was really impressive, it had all your famous cocktails but some really funky new ones that sounded delicious but I had never heard of before. They will be the ones I will be trying next!

Best of all it was a halal restaurant too, so all my muslim readers, this is a place for you to try too. Londoners, get yourself over to ‘Loco Mexicano’ as soon as you can because you won’t be disappointed.

Would I recommend the place to my friends and readers? For sure! Would I go again? Definitely.

Thanks for reading,
