Something I miss? Well let start with what missing actually means, ‘To feel regret, or sadness at no longer being able to enjoy the presence of something”.
I have to admit, I miss having proper old fashioned true friends. I have to admit, it is extremely hard to find trustworthy friends these days. I have been through many years of trying to make friends with new people and today, I can say I have three true friends.
What happened to be trustworthy? It seems that it is something that has devalued over time. People know how easy it is to make friends. I could make plenty of friends in one night, but how many of them will turn out to be true friends? Zero.
Now let’s look at the definition of a true friend: ‘A true friend is somebody who is touched your heart and will stay there. Someone you care for and who cares for you. Somebody you can do the stupidest things around and always be forgiven. Somebody you will instantly remember in ten years because they are in your heart and not just your mind. They have the ability to change you, even if they do not. They will be etched in your memories forever.’
Now lets compare it to the definition of just a friend: ‘A person whom has a bond of mutual affection.’ So simple.
Can you see the difference when you call somebody a friend and true friend? There is a big difference. Too many people just fit the friend defintion because there are a lack of people that that can live up to the expectations of being a true friend.
