Recipe: Breakfast Smoothie Bowl

Breakfast is such an important meal of the day and many people just leave the house in a rush grabbing a coffee or others spend their commute eating rice cakes. No, that isn’t breakfast! Breakfast should be nutritious and filling, to stop you craving your break only an hour or two after you have started work. I start my day with a smoothie bowl and it works a treat.

Since I have not posted a recipe in a while and quite of few of you from Facebook and Instagram were asking about the smoothie bowl I eat pretty much everyday, I decided to share it with you all. It’s so quick and easy, so there is no excuse to not start your day the best way!

Breakfast Smoothie Bowl

Ingredients:

Smoothie Base:

1 ripe Banana
A large handful of frozen raspberries
60-70ml (or 2/3 glugs) of milk (normal/semi/coconut/almond)
Optional: Add a scoop of whey protein (for those gym goers) 

Toppings:

Handful of almonds
3 pitted dates
Handful of fresh raspberries
Handful of fresh blueberries
Generous pinch of sunflower seeds
Small pinch of chia seeds

Method:

  1. Put serving bowl in freezer to chill whilst making the smoothie
  2. Blend all smoothie ingredients until completely smooth
  3. Pour the smoothie into the chilled bowl
  4. Add toppings
  5. Photograph & share on Instagram tagging me in it (@freshandfearless)
  6. Enjoy and indulge, it is guilt free after all!

It is literally the easiest thing to make. Super refreshing, not to mention healthy too. So quit wasting your daily carbohydrate intake on toast. 😉
