Best 8 Scenic View Points In Budapest

After my my last post about the best things to do in Budapest, I thought I would share the best view points I found. Especially as us globe trotters love a good picturesque view. Whether it be for social media or just for that unforgettable memory of the destination you are visiting. Get ready for those breath taking, scenic views.

  1. Hilton Hotel (Buda), Budapest

Hilton Hotel (Buda), Budapest

It’s known all around Budapest, that the Hilton Hotel has the best view on the Buda side and The Intercontinental from the Pest side. I think the picture speaks for itself. I was blown away when I walked into my room to be greeted by such a perfect view.

2. Buda Castle

Buda Castle

Whilst you’re walking around the Buda Castle, there will be many moments where you’ll want to stop and snap photos. The view of the chain bridge and perfectly symmetrical buildings and hotels.

3. Szent István Tér – St. Stephen’s Basilica

St. Stephen's Basilica

The view of St. Stephen’s Basilica is so pretty from Szent István Tér, just before the Basilica Christmas markets. 😍 You can even go up the Basilica and get a different view of Budapest form the centre of the city.

4. City Park Ice Rink

City Park Ice Rink Budapest

You need to visit the City Park Ice Rink, even if it is just for a picture. It literally is like you’re in a fairytale! Bonus points if you can skate on it and not fall over. Since there are no sides around the rink, there is nothing to hold on to. 😉

5. Gellért Hill

Gellért Hill

When we went up Gellèrt Hill to see the the Liberation monument, but it’s also an iconic spot to get an amazing view of Budapest and how both Buda and Pest have come together with the fixation of 3 bridges. It’s just a shame it was a misty day when we went.

6. Bécsi Kapú (Vienna Gate)

Bécsi Kapú

A short walk from Bécsi Kapú is this beautiful spot. You can see over Pest and the houses in the distance, followed patches of forestry. Make sure you get there when the sun is setting, because it’s just magical. ✨

7. Fisherman’s Bastion

Fisherman's Bastion

The view from Fisherman’s Bastion is remarkable. You get more of an up close version of what you can see from the Hilton Hotel, allowing you to see the finer details on the Budapest Parliament building.

8. River Danube Bankside (Pest – near Four Seasons Hotel)

River Danube Bankside

Down on the Pest side along the bankside, just outside the Four Seasons Hotel, you get a beautiful view of Budapest at night. The hotels have their Christmas lights on, the bridges are lit up and even the Buda Castle has a glow around it. Mesmerising!

Until next time…
