September Degusta Box of Goodies

It is that exciting time of the month, where a box of goodies come to your door. I love how every month is a surprise until the very moment you open the box. Especially for a foodie like me, it’s always super exciting to open a box of different goodies monthly. My parents have even started loving it too – they are like, “what date is the box of yumminess coming?”. Quite amazing how something so simple can cause so much happiness in a household!
Here we are, on September’s box. If I had to name this box, I would call it a box of sweetness. Most of the products are based about sweet tasting foodies and drinks, for somebody with a sweet tooth like me, it is heaven!
What stood out to me first were the Maynards Wine Gums and the Bassetts Jelly Babies, purely because they had selected favourite flavours rather than the original quint and sextet of flavours. The wine gums packet only had the blackcurrant and raspberry – my favourites. Where as the jelly babies were a berry mix, which contained blackcurrant, raspberry and strawberry only.
Reeses’s Buttercups are a known favourite of mine, having eaten so many in my lifetime, I know that they are positively the best things in the world. I even bought a massive stash back from Canada, so this added a few more to the inventory count!
Hate beer? but can just about handle cider? I’m that person. However, I find some ciders aren’t to my taste as they can be a bit too tangy. However, I feel like I have discovered and solved all my cider problems. Thanks to Degusta Box, I have fallen in love with The Good Cider of San Sebastian, perfectly sweet cider with a tad bit of usual cider tang. I got to try both the apple and the pear ones and I prefer the apple one but then again, I always have.
Sweet Sally’s Spiced Tea was something unusually great, I personally prefer that sort of thing warmed up and drunk in front of the fire or on a cold commute, however Sally’s spiced tea is supposed to be drunk chilled and it is surprisingly delicious! Sally’s tea calls London home, which means she has crafted and perfected the american style tea and blessed England with it.
Marsh And Mallow are bringing a different kind of name to the sweet and fluffy mallows we are all used to having on our hot chocolates. If you’re not a fan of the sickly sweet taste, then these are for you. Strong raspberry flavour with a full blown burst of tang. Something I would probably have after a really indulgent meal.
Posh noodles? Is that really a thing? When I think noodles, I think pot noodle – processed gloop. Not my thing at all. However, these posh noodles really are posh! They are not your usual gross pot noodle, but in fact noodles that resembles something you would get for a Chinese take-away especially with the Spicy Szechuan flavour that smelt amazing! I personally wouldn’t have the Kent Kitchen Spicy Szechaun noodles if you’re looking for a filling lunch – but for a snack it would sufficient.
The Olive Shop’s Olive Oil was something my mum absolutely loved. She only ever cooks with olive oil and for good reasons – she tried it out on one of her dishes and thought it was great! I’m another person that can appreciate some good quality olive oil.
Good things come with bad things too, but maybe they are just no my sort of thing? The Up and Go breakfast drinks weren’t my thing, I didn’t like the taste at all and personally I felt it wasn’t filling enough to get me ready to start the day. Nothing beats old school cereal and milk!
I’m not one to eat energy-boosting snacks either, as I feel it is all a bit artificial, so the Complete Energy Bites were not a winner sadly but like I said they may appeal to others!
If you’re looking to try a Degusta Box for yourself, get £3 £6 off instead with BLDEG15, meaning your first box will only cost you £6.99 instead of the usual £12.99!
