Thailand is known for its blue water beaches, excellent cuisine and its welcoming atmosphere to everyone and anyone from around the world. Thailand is certainly not a destination that you have to sell to anyone, certainly not to me anyway. Its fascinating culture has brought many new tourists and expats to reside in the beautiful South East Asian country. Thailand is home to a lot more than meets the eye, including a vast number of wild, wonderful animals and many buddhist temples which can be found towards Chiang Mai. If water sports and exploring the natural marine is more your thing, hop on over to the island of Koh Samui for an unforgettable experience in Thailand. For all those that like to dip their toes into the more luxurious side of life, like myself, Phuket is for you. It is filled with miles of golden sand and blue water beaches with some of the most stunning hotels and villas know to man. There is something for everyone waiting in Thailand.
1. Villa Amarapura: Phuket, Thailand
Imagine waking up to the sound of the ocean waves that your bedroom overlooks, slowly strolling into the living room with your morning coffee, admiring the most perfect view of the ocean directly opposite you. That’s the kind of deluxe luxury experience Villa Amarapura can offer. The bathrooms are designed with spa elements, where you can truly have some ‘me time’ and unwind fully. There is a lot that this seven bedroom villa has to offer, including a fully equipped gym, access to tennis, basket ball courts and a small golf course. Did I forget direct access to the beach too? Morning yoga will not be the same again!
2. Villa Akatsuki: Koh Samui, Thailand
I’m all about finding those areas of each destination that are slightly more private. Villa Akatsuki is located at Sunset Beach, away from the crowds of travellers, providing a secluded space where you can truly experience some of Thailand’s stunning sunsets. It’s peaceful and untouched, which makes for the perfect getaway. Villa Akatuski has so many unique features that I love, especially where the indoor pool can be found directly across from the bedrooms. Anyone for a morning dip, straight out of bed? That’s what holidays are all about. That’s not the last of the pools though, with three levels of infinity pools there is space for everyone to enjoy their time in the water while admiring the views or going for a proper swim. You can also experience some of Thailand’s best food with in-house chef, Chef Noi that will take your tastebuds on a real tour of Thailand.
3. Villa Analaya: Phuket, Thailand
This absolutely gorgeous villa can be found along Phuket’s Millionaire’s Mile with its gorgeous beachfront location, you won’t want to be staying anywhere else. Running down the classical sala staired entrance you will be brought down to the pool and terrace area. Complete with sun loungers, an area for alfresco dining and the a post-dinner lounge space – perfect for those that prefer sipping cocktails under the stars. My favourite thing about this villa is the fresh white facade that makes it feel so bright and airy. This vibe is also taken through to the house where there are large pane windows and balconies attached to each room. There is also vibrant tropical vibe that sets in at Villa Analaya that takes shape even through to the bathrooms, where rain showers are installed. You won’t be able to tear yourself away from this place once you have stayed here, I can assure you.
4. Villa Sawarin: Phuket, Thailand
Imagine a cool breezy evening, propped up on your velvety soft bed, with the windows swung wide open, a view of the crystal clear waters and you catching up on your favourite tv shows before bed. Is there anything more perfect than this? Villa Sawarin offers a tropical oasis with contemporary interiors, along with this comes extensive technology that provide ultimate comfort. Transporting you through peace and tranquility, there is a little nook for everyone to have some time out. The grounds extends out with three-acres of perfectly manicured lawn, so there is plenty of spaces for kids to play in a safe environment too, but also there is the private spa room, golf practise green, gym, botanical garden and infinity pool for the adults to enjoy. The villa sits adjacently to the five-star COMO resort, that offers some fantastic dining options should you wish to dine out and there is also the option to use their additional facilities as guests at Villa Sawarin.
5. Villa Anavaya: Koh Samui, Thailand
Villa Anavaya is located on the charming island of Koh Samui with some of the most gorgeous and unique 360 degree views. Its hillside setting makes it the perfect location to experience Thailand at height, along with its extensive comfort and facilities, it makes for the perfect home away from home. Swimming in the ‘L-Shaped’ infinity whilst the sun rises and sets over the horizon, they are moments you certainly won’t forget. I could never get bored of these views – the chef would have to bring dinner to the terrace for me every evening. The villa itself is split over various levels providing vast amounts of space with private areas, such as the balconies with lounge beds that provide some peace and serenity for those that wish to enjoy it. The villa also boasts a great indoor social dining space, with a dedicated bar, tv/lounge room and open living/dining area – the perfect communal area to get together for a well deserved meal after a day of sunbathing.
