Lion King Theatre Play – My Birthday Treat!

Shot of the theatre. (Got my sister in it too, but it has deformed her… oops!)

As most of you may know from Instagram or Twitter, that my sister took me out to the Lion King theatre play. I had always wanted to go and see a theatre play since I was a kid, but even when moving to London I never took the plunge to go and see anything.

I do remember her saying when I first moved here though, that do not worry, one day your time will come and you will see a theatre play. That day did come and was granted by herself. I got the biggest shock of my life when she told me over dinner that night, it was just spot on.

What can I say about the Lion King theatre play? It was breathtaking, it was absolutely unreal! The animals were portrayed so well, the scenes were on point with the movie and the voices of the cast were unbelievable. The costumes were well thought out and the entire thing was well put together. The music was all played live, with real african drums and a full orchestra at the front below the stage.

Would I recommend it for somebody to see? Of course! I have heard that is one of the best theatre plays out there, so I was overjoyed that my first one was in fact something so great. I definitely have the bug now, I really want to see Wicked and Mamma Mia next!

The Lyceum theatre is located within a short walking distance of Waterloo station. You will not be able to miss it, being so big and beautiful – inside and out.

I would also like to say a little public thank you to my sister for giving me such an awesome treat. Love you long time Shamina!

Have you seen The Lion King theatre play?
